How Rice Rotations is built, and what we will not promise

If you are reading this page you are asking one question: is this going to cost me my account. The honest version of the answer has two halves, and both are on this page: how the software is designed, and what we deliberately refuse to claim about it.

Counting from May 2025, when running on two machines stopped being a recommendation and became a requirement. That is the record so far, not a promise about what comes next.

Nothing is attached to the game

Rice Rotations does not inject into World of Warcraft, does not read the game’s memory and does not use an unlocker. It works from the picture of the game: it reads the fight the way you do, decides which ability comes next for your specialization, and sends a keystroke.

That decision-making runs on a second PC or a virtual machine rather than on your gaming PC. The machine playing the game sends out a video stream and receives keys; that is the whole of the relationship. It is more setup than installing something and pressing play, and the separation is exactly what you are setting up for.

Running since 2023

Rotation assistants appear constantly, advertise that they are undetectable, and disappear inside a year. The promise costs nothing to make on day one and means nothing on day two. Longevity is not a guarantee either, but unlike a safety claim it is a fact you can check: Rice has been sold and maintained since 2023 and is still being maintained today, and the counter above says how long the current design has gone without a reported incident.

It is also maintained by a team rather than by one person. Forty specializations across tank, healer and DPS on two game versions is not a single developer’s job, which is the real reason patch day goes badly for most products in this category. Ours is on the record: the rotation update log shows every spec and the date it was last touched, which is the least flattering way to publish a cadence and the only one you can verify.

What we will not tell you

We do not promise that nothing will ever happen to your account. No vendor controls what Blizzard does next, and any product that answers this question with a guarantee instead of a description is selling you certainty it does not have. Read the design, decide whether it is the kind of design you are comfortable with, and treat anyone promising more than that with suspicion.

We also do not publish the internals. How the picture is captured and processed, how input is timed, and the specifics of the pipeline are not on a marketing page, for the same reason no vendor in this space publishes them.

The other constraints, stated plainly

  • Built and tuned for PvE. There are no arena or battleground profiles.
  • Windows only. There is no macOS build and macOS is not supported.
  • A second PC or a virtual machine is part of the design, not an optional extra.
  • The application and all support are in English only, even where these pages are translated.

Questions

Is Rice Rotations safe to use?
We will not answer that with a guarantee, because nobody selling software like this controls what Blizzard does next, and a promise you cannot verify before paying is worth nothing. What we can tell you is how it is built and how long it has been built that way: nothing attaches to the game, input arrives from a separate machine, and the product has been running since 2023.
Do you inject into the game or read its memory?
No. There is no injection, no memory reading and no unlocker. The software works from the picture of the game and sends keyboard input.
Why do I need a second PC or a virtual machine?
Because that is what keeps the two halves apart. The machine running World of Warcraft sends out a video stream and receives keystrokes; everything that reads the fight and makes decisions runs on the other machine. It is more setup than a single install, and that separation is the reason we ask for it.
Why do you not say you are undetectable?
Because it is not a claim anyone can honestly make, and the products making it loudest are usually the newest ones. Ask how long a product has existed, then compare that against how strongly it promises safety.
Who maintains the rotations?
A team, not one developer. Forty specializations across tank, healer and DPS is not a single person’s workload, which is why the update log shows the whole roster moving on patch day rather than one spec at a time.
