Frost Mage rotation assistant for World of Warcraft

Profile updated 3 days ago

Every Brain Freeze spent, every Ice Lance aimed at what is dying next.

Rice Rotations reads your Frost Mage from the game picture, decides which ability comes next, and presses the key for it from a second PC or a virtual machine. It runs on World of Warcraft Midnight retail and on Mists of Pandaria Classic, and the profile is included in the same subscription as the other thirty-nine specializations.

How the Frost Mage profile plays

Frost is a Shatter spec. Rice pairs Flurry with Ice Lance to get the Shatter, banks Fingers of Frost, spends Brain Freeze on the right cast, and only holds Glacial Spike when it will land into the combo rather than sitting on a full stack.

DPS is about never wasting a global. Rice keeps your builder and spender priority correct through procs and haste changes, lines burst cooldowns up with the window they are meant for, and switches to the multi-target priority when the pull is actually stacked rather than when a timer says so.

The profile reacts to the pull instead of replaying a fixed list: interrupts fire on casts that matter, dispels go out when a debuff lands, and cooldowns are held for the burst window rather than used the moment they come up. Dozens of Frost Mage settings decide how aggressive or how conservative that behaviour is, so a raid night and a Mythic+ push can use different profiles of the same spec.

Cooldowns and burst windows

Icy Veins is opened with procs banked, Frozen Orb and Comet Storm are worked into that window, and the Water Elemental freeze is used to force a Shatter when the priority calls for it.

What the Frost Mage rotation handles

  • Flurry, Ice Lance and Shatter combos executed on time
  • Fingers of Frost and Brain Freeze banked and spent correctly
  • Icy Veins opened with procs available
  • Counterspell on interrupts, Ice Block and Ice Barrier on damage

Raid, Mythic+ and the rest

Single target protects the Flurry and Ice Lance combos. On packs it moves to Blizzard, Frozen Orb and Cone of Cold cleave and stops holding Glacial Spike when it no longer pays.

Raid nights, Mythic+ keystones, delves, world content and levelling alts. Rice Rotations is built and tuned for PvE, so there are no arena or battleground profiles. The desktop client is Windows only.

Setup and safety

Nothing is attached to the game: there is no injection, no memory reading and no unlocker. Rice runs on a second PC or a virtual machine, reads your gaming PC as a video stream and sends keystrokes back, so the machine running World of Warcraft only ever sees keyboard input arriving.

  • Built and tuned for PvE. No arena or battleground profiles.
  • Midnight retail is supported.
  • Classic is Mists of Pandaria only, so no Era, no Wrath, no other ruleset.

Frost Mage questions

Does it get the Shatter combos right?
That is the core of the profile: the Flurry into Ice Lance ordering is executed to the global, which is where hand played Frost leaks damage.
Is Frost a good spec for an assistant?
It is one of the best. Frost is proc driven and mobile, so the profile can hold the full priority while you play mechanics.
