Death Knight · DPS

Unholy Death Knight rotation assistant for World of Warcraft

Profile updated today

Wounds get spent, the pets get their cooldowns, and Apocalypse lands on the pull it should.

Rice Rotations reads your Unholy Death Knight from the game picture, decides which ability comes next, and presses the key for it from a second PC or a virtual machine. It runs on World of Warcraft Midnight retail and on Mists of Pandaria Classic, and the profile is included in the same subscription as the other thirty-nine specializations.

How the Unholy Death Knight profile plays

Unholy is a wound bookkeeping spec. Rice applies Festering Strike to keep wounds banked without overcapping, bursts them with Scourge Strike when the pet cooldowns are up, spends Runic Power on Death Coil to feed Runic Corruption, and keeps Virulent Plague applied through Outbreak on everything in range.

DPS is about never wasting a global. Rice keeps your builder and spender priority correct through procs and haste changes, lines burst cooldowns up with the window they are meant for, and switches to the multi-target priority when the pull is actually stacked rather than when a timer says so.

The profile reacts to the pull instead of replaying a fixed list: interrupts fire on casts that matter, dispels go out when a debuff lands, and cooldowns are held for the burst window rather than used the moment they come up. Dozens of Unholy Death Knight settings decide how aggressive or how conservative that behaviour is, so a raid night and a Mythic+ push can use different profiles of the same spec.

Cooldowns and burst windows

Dark Transformation is paired with Apocalypse and Unholy Assault so the wound burst, the pet damage and your majors overlap instead of drifting apart. Army of the Dead or Summon Gargoyle is scheduled for the window it is meant for rather than fired on pull out of habit.

What the Unholy Death Knight rotation handles

  • Wound count kept in the useful band, never overcapped
  • Apocalypse, Dark Transformation and Unholy Assault overlapped
  • Virulent Plague spread and maintained on the whole pull
  • Mind Freeze, Anti-Magic Shell and Icebound Fortitude on demand

Raid, Mythic+ and the rest

On single target the profile protects wound count and pet uptime. On a pull it spreads disease, uses the wound burst as cleave and holds Apocalypse for the pack that is actually worth it, so you are not burning the big window on two mobs that die anyway.

Raid nights, Mythic+ keystones, delves, world content and levelling alts. Rice Rotations is built and tuned for PvE, so there are no arena or battleground profiles. The desktop client is Windows only.

Setup and safety

Nothing is attached to the game: there is no injection, no memory reading and no unlocker. Rice runs on a second PC or a virtual machine, reads your gaming PC as a video stream and sends keystrokes back, so the machine running World of Warcraft only ever sees keyboard input arriving.

  • Built and tuned for PvE. No arena or battleground profiles.
  • Midnight retail is supported.
  • Classic is Mists of Pandaria only, so no Era, no Wrath, no other ruleset.

Unholy Death Knight questions

Does it manage the pets as well?
It manages pet cooldowns, so Dark Transformation and the summon windows are used inside your burst rather than on cooldown. Pet positioning stays with the game.
How does it treat disease uptime on big pulls?
Outbreak and its spread are treated as maintenance, so plague uptime on the pull is kept high instead of being lost while you focus on the priority target.
